Why a Specialist?

There is a difference between a dentist and a specialist endodontist

Specialist endodontists complete three or more years of full-time postgraduate training beyond dental school, focused exclusively on diagnosing and treating diseases of the dental pulp. Specialist registration is regulated by AHPRA — the title is protected and cannot be used by general dentists.

Postgraduate specialist training

Each of our clinicians has completed a full-time Doctor of Clinical Dentistry or Master of Dental Science in Endodontics — a research-intensive three-year specialist qualification. All three are AHPRA registered specialist endodontists.

Advanced specialist technology

Every case is treated under a dental operating microscope with digital radiography and in-house CBCT 3D imaging when indicated.

Higher success rates, better outcomes

Published evidence consistently shows higher success and survival rates when endodontic treatment is performed by specialists, particularly for complex cases, retreatments and surgical cases. Your patient returns with a same-day report.

Our Technology

Advanced technology.

Operating-microscope precision on every case, in-house CBCT 3D imaging when clinically indicated, and modern bioceramic materials — delivered by specialist endodontists across South West Sydney and the Illawarra.

CBCT 3D Imaging

Three-dimensional cone beam imaging reveals complex canal anatomy, vertical root fractures, resorption and periapical pathology that 2D X-rays cannot show. A fraction of the radiation dose of medical CT.

Operating Microscope

Every case is treated under a surgical-grade dental operating microscope with co-axial illumination — up to 25× magnification, with integrated digital photography for your patient records.

Digital Radiography

Up to 90% less radiation than film, with instant high-resolution images shared electronically with your referring dentist on the same day as treatment.

Bioceramic Materials

Modern bioceramic sealers and obturation materials bond chemically to dentine, providing a durable long-term seal against reinfection.

Our Specialist Services

From routine root canal treatment to complex microsurgical and trauma cases.

Delivered with operating microscope magnification on every case, CBCT 3D imaging when clinically indicated, and same-day reporting to referring dentists.

Root Canal Treatment

Microscope-guided primary root canal treatment for anteriors, premolars and molars. Every case completed under magnification with digital photographic records sent to the referring dentist.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we hear most from patients and referring dentists.

Root canal treatment has an unfair reputation. Modern specialist endodontic treatment — performed under local anaesthesia with the operating microscope — is typically no more uncomfortable than having a filling placed. Most patients report feeling pressure or vibration rather than pain. For patients with significant dental anxiety, both oral and IV sedation are available.

Most straightforward root canal treatments are completed in one or two appointments of 60–90 minutes. Complex cases — significantly infected teeth, calcified canals, or retreatments — may require additional appointments. A clear treatment plan and written quote is provided before starting any treatment.

For most molars and premolars, yes — once the nerve has been removed the tooth is more brittle and a crown protects it from fracture. Anterior teeth without large existing restorations may not require a crown. Your general dentist will place the final restoration, and we will make a specific recommendation in our report.
